FiatLux Imaging Brings 3-D Graphics Power and Affordability to Medical Imaging

FiatLux Visualize™ software to preview at SIIM 2008 Annual Meeting

SEATTLE—May 15, 2008—FiatLux Imaging, Inc. is developing next generation medical imaging software. The software, scheduled for release during the summer of 2008, promises to usher in a new era of power, simplicity and access to medical images. FiatLux Imaging hopes to expand robust imaging availability to the entire spectrum of health care providers with a price-point anticipated to be more in line with graphics programs like Photoshop rather than the tens of thousands of dollars currently paid for medical imaging software today. The FiatLux Visualize software is targeted to run on everything from a medical provider’s ultra-mobile PC to a radiologist’s workstation, with PDA and cell phone medical viewers currently in development.

While affordably running on everyday hardware is a powerful offering, “the true story is the unprecedented graphics power and the easy-to-use interface allowing the provider to rapidly and intuitively reformat and view their own studies in any setting,” said Mary Frances Feider, CEO of FiatLux.  The highly anticipated Visualize features under development include 2D, 3D, 4D; MIP; volume rendering; real-time fly-throughs; cutting-edge measurement segmentation, and visualization tools, in concert with real-time consulting tools. The FiatLux Imaging founders, three Microsoft games veterans, John Pella, Quentin Dewolf and Mary Frances Feider, are bringing their years of experience in game technology to medical software.

As the next step in the evolution of medical imaging, the Visualize product plans to improve patient care and outcomes by improving diagnostic speed and certainty, allowing more effective physician communication, and allowing physicians the flexibility to choose where and when to analyze patient information, develop interventions and communicate their plans to the care team and patients.
